The Corsham Development Project is under construction with Inteq, a joint-venture between John Laing and Interserve. The project will provide state-of-the-art facilities to the Defence Communications Services Agency on the Basil Hill Site in Corsham, Wiltshire.
All completed major building work is anticipated by 2010. The project will see cutting-edge operational and technical support facilities built at Corsham, with new and refurbished office accommodation for around 2,000 staff and 180 single, en-suite rooms for service staff.
The construction costs will be £101 million and John Laing will take a lease on the existing underground tunnels below the MOD sites in Corsham and develop these for third party income opportunities. Interserve FM will provide soft facilities management.
The project has been directly influenced by the government’s sustainability agenda. As such, issues relating to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, pollution, water use, and considerate use of material and resources are instrumental to the development of the site.
