Home > PFI/PPP > A Project Explained > Facilities Management Facilities ManagementThe exact role of a facilities management (FM) company is to provide the services required to run the facility day-to-day, either by way of directly employing staff to work at the premises, or by sub-contracting out to other companies or suppliers.John Laing’s facilities management division, John Laing Integrated Services (JLIS), is a specialist in key areas of PFI, including schools, police and other public sector areas. JLIS provides support services across the whole of the FM spectrum, including reception and administration, security, portering, helpdesk, catering, cleaning, M&E, financial management, grounds maintenance, and others. Certain projects require more specific additional services, for instance police stations, where the following are also provided: custody suite management, the typing and summarising of interview tapes, and storage of evidence.
