Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future entered into a partnership with John Laing in 2006. This engagement has been greatly welcomed because of the company’s influence over the planning, procurement and operation of public sector infrastructure like schools, hospitals and railways. This represents a significant contribution to the communities of today and tomorrow, and needs to be provided in a way that is environmentally responsible and socially just.

The first year of the partnership has focused on building board level understanding and commitment around the principles of sustainable business, and what leadership might look like for John Laing. We were really encouraged by the willingness of the Board to accept and tackle issues like climate change and carbon management. 2007 has seen this learning transfer into action on the ground. We are enjoying working with John Laing to identify and deliver practical business solutions to the environmental and social challenges that they face today.
